After updating to windows 10, the audio (Conexant HD Audio) starts to have some problems, such as the need to keep restarting my laptop to get the audio back. Recently it has gotten worse, hence I decided to uninstall the Conexant HD Audio driver from my device manager, with the hope that I can reinstall the updated windows 10 Conexant HD Audio driver. But after uninstalling, I found out that I cannot reinstall it back. The device driver installation wizard will only install for 2 - 3%, then a messagebox ERROR will appear stating that 'Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver.' I have tried installing windows 8 and 10 versions of the Conexant HD Audio Drivers, but they do not work. Currently, my audio isn't working anymore. Can anyone help me, Thank you very much. Let’s assume you are using windows 7, below is are the steps: Hold Start+R and type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. Right click the sound card and select Update Driver Software Browse My Computer let me pick. But right now, Conexant HD Audio is not in my device manager anymore, due to me uninstalling it there. Presently, I don't know where is the location of my sound card too. I am quite lost prior to my audio now too. I presume that I can reinstall back the audio driver through lenovo support page, but there is always an error hence I am not sure about that. I had a similar problem with Windows 10 on my Yoga 3 1470, where the audio through the internal speakers and headphones stopped. The Device manager did not show any drivers in the 'Sound, video and game controllers'. Trying to install the latest Conexant HD Audio driver downloaded from Lenovo site, resulted in failure. The installation used to fail with no device for this driver. Lenovo support also tried remotely to fix the issue and encountered the same error. They suggested that they will restore the PC to its original state of Wndows 8.1 which would mean that I would lose Windows 10 and all the apps that I had installed including Office. I was supposed to call back Lenovo after taking a backup of my files.
